Description and History of Site:-
By D R Hill of Birmingham 1849. 1970s outer brick wall encloses Italianate mock fortress gatehouse with pair of three-storey towers. Prison buildings have wings radiating from taller central tower. 19th-century staff housing ranged round perimeter walls.
