Description and History of Site:-
Built c.1780, best known as home of William Morris, 1878-1896, but earlier occupied by Sir Francis Ronalds who invented and tested an electric telegraph here 1816. Fragments of cable are in Science Museum.

Modern use, Craft workshop including William Morris' Albion Press. Coach House and library with changing exhibitions of Morris embroidery and Pre-Raphaelite drawings. - Bob Rust
