Description and History of Site:-
Former site of Frederick Bailey Licensed Maltster on which stood a three-storey maltings, later used by the Star Brewery (qv). Demolished and replaced by new housing. Two inscribed stones have been incorporated into the development: on Auckland Road 'FREDERICK BAILEY LICENSED MALTSTER'; on Parsonage Street 'ERECTED BY FRED BAILEY 1873'.
