Sighting Tower

Description and History of Site:-

Sighting Tower - Circular in design. It is suspected that this tower is part of the earlier Nidd Aqueduct Scheme and was designed by Leather and is modelled on the Bramhope Tunnel design, not square like the sighting tower near Greenhow. Unfortunately there is no internal access. The tower appears on the maps of the 1890's but not on that of 1850.
