Yew Tree Mills

Description and History of Site:-
Large mill complex of 1848. Main Mill Chimney (1134738) and small mill building (1313622) both listed grade II Although there have been mill buildings, most probably a dye-works, on this site since at least 1850, the present Yew Tree Mills were built by Butterworth and Roberts (of the adjacent Hinchcliffe Mill) in 1868, and who still operate on the site. The Mills came to prominence recently when Moxon's of Huddersfield were acquired in 1993 and subsequently moved to Yew Tree Mills. The company now manufactures very fine, high quality woollen fabrics.
