Ossett Watertower

Description and History of Site:-

A fine ferro-concrete water tower built c1928 on the site of the Ossett Corporation's Gawthorpe covered reservoir. With a capacity of 200,000 gallons (1,000,000 litres) it originally received water pumped from Pildacre Waterworks (qv) which closed in 1974, and subsequently from Fixby treatment works.
