Description and History of Site:-
An early corn and snuff mill for sale in 1793 and converted to spin cotton by 1795. The mill, millwork, machinery and stock were together insured for £662 in that year. The mill was substantially rebuilt after a fire in 1830. In 1833 the mill had a 30 hp water wheel and 125 people worked at the mill. At the time of listing (1988) was being used as a paper store. Now converted to apartments. Insured by John Thornborow from Colne in 1795 and leased to John Procter & Son who continued spinning cotton there for many years.
