Description and History of Site:-
Cotton weaving shed, renamed 'Watershed Mill' in the 1990's and now(2017) in use for a variety of office and retail activities including a 'Scottish Woollen' outlet.
Built in 1840, adjacent to the River Ribble, as additional weaving capacity for Langcliffe Mill and initially to re-use the water flowing from that mill. Enlarged in the late C19th and early C20th. The original water wheel was replaced with water turbines and steam power. Closed in 1950. After the mill business closed down the weaving shed was taken over by agricultural feed merchants as a storage and distribution depot for many years. It then lay idle until being taken on by Edinburgh Woollen Mill as a retail outlet.
