Grosmont Railway Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
Grosmont Railway Bridge. Masonry bridge over R. Murk Esk. North York Moors Railway. Built across the Murk Esk c.1845. Probably by John Cass Birkenshaw Engineer to the York and North Midland Railway. Sandstone ashlar. Semi-circular arch of radiating voussoirs with moulded corniced keystone.
