Saltwick Nab Alum Works

Description and History of Site:-
Saltwick Nab Alum Works. Operational between 1650 and 1791, initially the alum liquor was taken to South Shields for processing. Little remains of the later alum house that was constructed to the east in 1770. A stone ramp exist on the shore.
