Monks Trod

Description and History of Site:-
Monks Trod also referred to as 'pannier tracks' part of which is laid with a single row of stone slabs to provide a firm and dry track across the wet and peaty moorlands. This track heads south across the moor from Birk Brow to join with the Quakers Causeway. There are numerous other locations on the moors where they are found.
