Rillington Railway Station

Description and History of Site:-
Part of the once much more extensive Rillington station Probably by G. T. Andrews for the York and North Midland Railway. The station closed to normal passenger traffic in 1930, but remained open to special trains until the 1960's. Originally, and presumably up until its final closure, the station occupied both sides of the then single track line and was roofed across. The part that remains is a rather re-modelled section of the southern side of the station.

This is also the location of Rillington junction, where the Whitby branch (now closed) of the NER joined the York and Scarborough branch.
