Description and History of Site:-
Basically timber construction weatherboarding. Derwent valley Light Rail Company. Prefabricated Building. The Derwent Valley Light Railway was built, primarily as a standard gauge freight line, in 1912/1913. Passengers were carried between 1913 and 1926. Freight carriage prospered through to the 1940s, but by 1973 the only section still open was that between Dunnington and Elvington. The site is now within the Derwent Valley Industrial Estate.
