Myton-on-Swale Water Tower

Description and History of Site:-
Square brick base stone corbel table and sill surmounted by cast iron tank plus corrugated pitched roof. Myton Grange stud farm, built in the 1870's was regarded as one of the most up-to-date farms of the area. It had its own water supply pumped from a nearby spring to the 18,000 gallon capacity water tower, using a steam engine.

After many decades of increasing dereliction, a substantial programme of renovation was begun in 2011.
