Kirkby Fleetham Brewery

Description:-
Range of strange buildings not apparent at first from the architecture that they have anything at all to do with brewing. No vertical brew house. Mostly in nice small neat stones but with some yellowish brickwork particularly the later buildings such as stables. Mixture of slate and pantile roofs. Buildings arranged round square courtyard with entrance through stone gate piers. Cart-sheds to north stables to south. Cottage formed at road end.

History:-
John and David Linton, brewers, Low St., were listed in the Kelly's directories of 1893 and 1913.

Informed locals reported that the brewery had closed in around 1925 (Hatcher, 1975)
