Hoyle's Mill

Description and History of Site:-
A small mill built, in the early 19th C using gearing and other items from a drainage mill. The mill worked by wind until the about 1920 following which it was engine driven for several years.

The mill reputedly had two common and two spring sails, which were removed in about 1928. These drove a pair of each of French and grey stones. The cap was gabled and winded by a braced tailpole in typical drainage mill style.

In the mid-1980's the mill was capless and used as a store.
