Town Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
John Rennie's single arch cast iron road bridge of 1806-8 was on a site sightly to the south of that of the 18th century and earlier bridges, and a new street called Bridge Street was formed in 1807.

Largely rebuilt in cast iron by John Webster in 1913 only the stone bases with plain paired pilasters were reused from Rennie's earlier bridge.
