Hornsea Railway Station

Description and History of Site:-
The main facade in Italian renaissance style in brick (and slate) with stone dressings. Rusticated brickwork rubbed brick etc. Little pediment over central arch of porte cochere. Opened 1864 as the terminus of the Hull & Hornsea railway, design by Rawlins Gould.
Closed in October 1964, the station stood intact but derelict until the late 1980's when refurbishment/redevelopment into housing began.
