Economic Stores Head Office - Halifax

Economic Stores, former head office and warehouse, King Street, Halifax. The site comprises the original head office building of 1903 standing at the corner of Smithy Street and King Street, and an early post-war extension adjoining it in Smithy Street. By 1937 this multiple grocer was said to have operated 71 branches and departments, chiefly located in the Halifax, Bradford and Huddersfield areas. Photo. February 1998.
