Bailey Hall 'G' Mill - Halifax

The mill was the second to be erected by the co-operatively managed Halifax Flour Society, built in 1863. The unusual shape was dictated by the steepness of the hillside behind, its proximity to the railway viaduct, and the need to provide access between it and other premises to the west, adjoining Berry Lane. As business continued to expand, the Society required a still larger mill, which was erected on an adjacent site at Bailey Hall (WYK790). Portions of the building remain, in use as a self storage warehouse. Photo from Bailey Hall Road, November 1979.
