Bell Hall Maltings - Halifax

Bell Hall Maltings was erected by James Howorth to complement his Bell Hall Windmill, but was partly re-built circa 1790; the new structure measuring forty five and a half yards by thirteen yards. For many years John Foster was tenant until he purchased the premises outright in 1870. Malting continued at the premises until at least 1881, but thereafter it was occupied by a variety of businesses and the kiln end of the building was demolished to make way for Waterloo Hall.
