Description and History of Site:-
The former parish workhouse now is home to the Vestry House Museum which serves as a centre for the collection, preservation and interpretation of the past and present story of the people of Waltham Forest.

It has also been used as a police station, armoury, builders yard as well as a house and has been a museum since 1931.

The building dates from 1730 and is in plum brick with red dressings. The south front is of two storeys and five bays with a tied double hipped roof.

The main door has an inscribed plaque over it.

Much of the interior panelling and some door cases have been brought in from other buildings.
