Description and History of Site:-
Built for the London & South Western Railway by Brassey and Ogilvie to the designs of W R Galbraith between 1864 and 1869.
It has five 115ft river spans with brick abutments and ornate cast-iron cylinder piers.
The platform, 28ft wide, is carried by wrought iron trellis girders 9ft deep.
