Description and History of Site:-
This station (the second in Wetherby) was opened in 1902 although the Leeds to Wetherby branch of the NER on which it was situated originally opened on 1 May 1876 and at that time terminated at the York Road station in Wetherby. Linton Road station consisted of two facing platforms with a footbridge across the line, and the main station building designed by William Bell was a single storey brick structure. The line closed in 1964 and the tracks lifted by 1966. Subsequently, the station buildings and passenger footbridge were removed (by the 1970's).

Now forms part of a footpath and cycle-way. Most of the site is used as a public car park. Two over bridges are visible from the site; to the south-west carrying Linton Road over the track bed, and to the north-east the A661 (Spofforth Hill).
