Description and History of Site:-
In 1818 it was described as Marsh Factory when it was for sale. The four storey mill measured 15 yards by 12 yards and had water wheels as well as a 5 hp steam engine.
In 1834 when the mill was for sale there were five floors plus an attic and it measured 12 yards by 11 yards. There was also a weaving shop of two storeys plus an attic which measured 12 yards by 12 yards with shafting for power looms. It was powered by two water wheels and an 18 hp steam engine.
