Austwick Weaving Shed

Description and History of Site:-
It is a long two-storey building whose internal composition has been altered beyond recognition by residential conversion so no details can be given. Weaving in Austwick goes back pre-1600 with home-based handloom weavers but the precise history of this shed is not known. It is thought to have been opened up c. 1850 and by c. 1880 the industry here was dead. By the 1950s, at least, it was empty and semi-derelict but was later converted to a dwelling.
