High Mill

Description and History of Site:-

A small cotton spinning mill probably built on the site of a former corn mill.It was occupied by the firm of Atkinson & Johnson from about 1793.
On the 13th of October 1810 the Halifax Journal reported that - "Some cotton mills have lately been erected near the town, which afford employment for a large portion of its poor'.
