West Burton Mill

Description and History of Site:-

Three storey mill in stone of probable mid-18th C date. Known to have last worked as a corn mill in the 1920's. Subsequently used as a dairy and cheese factory until the 1950's, then store, now residential.

Natural rock outcrop modified with concrete weir across pool downstream of waterfall sluice site visible. Mill leat on west side of beck now filled in and used as a path.
