Scarborough Gas Works

Description and History of Site:-
Dark brown brick two storeys and loft. Decorative use of yellow brick round lunettes to lofts dogtooth string courses. Small Norman window openings with semi-circular arched heads. Still retort sheds standing though obviously has been a lot of demolition (Hatcher 1973).
A further gas holder was at TA 03135 86932 on west side of Seamer Road.
