Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
Opened in October 1911, it has a span of 570ft and a clearance of 160ft above H.W.O.S.T. It is operated by electric motors driving a winch. Visitor Centre with access to the upper walkway now available via a lift. Lowest bridge across the River Tees.
