Description and History of Site:-

Also known as Bank House Bridge.

"Single span clapper bridge, undateable, of millstone grit. One side restored to take supports for wooden handrail. Clapper is supported at each end by rude stone piers. Scheduled ancient monument." From the Listing Description.

This bridge is most probably of the C15 or C16, but claims have been made for much greater antiquity. The wooden handrail is no longer present (2020).
