Description and History of Site:-
1957-63 Mott Hay & Anderson, Engineers, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (Architect). 325 ft chimney.
At closure, June 1977, one 100 MW English Electric Turbine, oil-fired, existed.
Converted to an art gallery (Tate Modern), which opened in spring 2000.
