Springfield Mills

Description and History of Site:-

Woollen and worsted mill built in the 1860s. Occupied by Hudson Sykes & Bousfield Ltd from 1874 to 1930s. The company went into liquidation around 1930 when the mills were taken over by Hield Bros. Although still operating in 1973, the mills had been demolished by 1998 and subsequently redeveloped to housing. While still in business, the company's offices and warehouse were at 19 Wellington Street, Leeds (WYK02344).
