Hand Weaving Factory

Description and History of Site:-

Coursed sandstone, stone slate roof to south, more modern workshop in brick abutting to the north. South side: 6 stone-mullioned windows with projecting sills, and 7 others, most with plain stone surrounds. Western side: gabled, with 3 large, superposed taking-in doors and small crane above.Hatcher (1972) described this as a 'hand-loom weaving factory' of 1770. Extant in 2021, apparently in mixed commercial and light industrial use.
