Sitlington Tunnel and Viaduct

Description and History of Site:-

Railway tunnel of 1790 - 93 and nearby viaduct of C 1803, being remains of a once extensive tramway and railway network built between 1775 and 1893.

Care is needed at this site for it is close to one of HMG prisons.

Viewing the Site :- Tunnel southern portal is visible from the public footpath running from New Hall Approach to Flockton Green. Viaduct is visible from the A637 at Cold Hiendley.
