Broughton Lane Station

Description and History of Site:-

Opened 1st August 1864 by the South Yorkshire Railway which then became the part of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR). Access to the station was by steps from Broughton Lane Bridge. Closed on 3 April 1956. The site is below Greenland Road viaduct over the line and canal near the foundations of the old bridge. Sheffield Supertram now runs on the line.
