Redfearn National Glass
Description and History of Site:-
Established in 1930 and visited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 1936. They reported that "The works are equipped for the production of all kinds of bottles, jars, and containers; blown tumblers, both plain and acid-etched; and table glass, by the most recent fully automatic machinery." The National Glass Co merged with Redfearn in 1967. Closed December 23rd 1983 and demolished during 1985; the chimney was the last structure to be brought down on April 20th 1986.
