Leeman Road Goods Station

Description and History of Site:-

Brick and slate, two storeys. Five double bays. On upper floor sash windows with flat arched heads. On ground floor semi-circular headed windows. Two windows per bay. Central bay has pediment. Yellow brick bands at level of springing to arches on ground floor windows as string course and fancy cornice also round pediment. Yellow brick semi-circular headed entrance with slightly ornamental surround. Office at entrance with rounded corner to Leeman road. GNER's goods depot built outside walls. Coal depot built later with approach through enlarged North Street postern gate. Designed by G T Andrews.
