Description and History of Site:-

Fine iron work. (Hatcher 1973)Cattle, and other livestock, market. Built in 1827 to replace a number of earlier and rather scattered markets. Provided with its own railway branch line and siding in 1879. The two distinctive cupolas, auction rings of 1904, were initially preserved off site but are now thought to have been lost. The whole site cleared in the late 1970's
