Description and History of Site:-

Extremely beautiful bridge, unusually high and wide for so ancient a bridge. Rubble stone. Packhorse over the River Swale. Nearby, a resting stone for coffins on route down the dale to Grinton Church, the nearest burial place until Victorian times.
