Rippon Bros Works - Huddersfield

Built by Rippon Bros for Edward Overend Simpson, born Manchester, 1866. He was a solicitor; bought Hazlewood Castle, near Tadcaster, from Sir William Vavasour in 1908. The Simpsons lived at Hazlewood for about 40 years.
Between c1907 and 1914 Rippon built coachwork on 317 Renault chassis, more than any other make during that period.
