Filey Windmill

Description and History of Site:-
In 1973 Hatcher noted:- Derelict stump in brick had had two opposing doorways. Windows two on each floor opposing alternating on each floor. Has been bitumen coated. Wall consists of outer skin of one brick thickness then 9" skin. Flat brick arches to openings.

From HER - Tower corn mill, originally with 4 patent sails and Ogee/Lincolnshire Cap. No sails of wind-shaft remain. The mill was noted by Whitworth as still being a stump in 1991 as it still is in 2015 - Shown on 1st Edition OS maps of 1854
