Helmsley Railway Station

Description and History of Site:-
Grander version of typical station. Stone careful detailing subtle mouldings round windows etc. Hint of wings. Possible influence of Lord Feversham's architect? Estate-ish. Other railway buildings extremely discreet sheltered from lordly gaze by trees. (Hatcher, 1973).
Built by the North Eastern Railway. Opened October 1871, closed to passengers 1953, closed completely 1964. Now (2017) a private residence.
