Description and History of Site:-
Covers with the letters LHP on them housed stop valves on the London Hydraulic Power system's mains and branches.
This one is in a residential part of Victoria. Perhaps the power was used for lifts in the many mansion blocks nearby.
LHP power was available in London until its closure in 1977.
