Description and History of Site:-
Building, designed by Sir Banister Fletcher, 1935. Office facade with water tower clock and copper top: Workshops to rear for safety razor blade manufacturer. A report in The Guardian of 13 October 2003 (with photograph of the frontage) refers to a review by the company of its establishments, raising fears amongst the 450 employees at the Isleworth plant of possible closure; a further item in The Guardian of 12 December 2003 announces the intended closure of the plant in 2007. See also The Times (Business Section), 12 December 2003, page 37 announcing the decision to close the Isleworth factory at which production commenced in 1937 - production to be re-located in eastern Europe.
