Description and History of Site:-
There has been a bridge on this site since at least the 13th century. The present bridge was designed by Edward Lapidge and built between 1825 and 1828. It was widened in 1914 on the upstream side. It comprises 5 elliptical arches in brick faced with Portland stone.
