Hope Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Currently occupied (2019) by England Worthside Ltd., originally beer hand-pump manufacturers, now more generally involved in the supply and servicing of drinks dispensing equipment. One of the first steam powered mills in Keighley. The full insurance cover in 1801 was £ 500. Changed to worsted in 1812. Built by Thomas Corlass in 1800. He lost money spinning cotton and the mill was taken by John Mitchell for worsted spinning in 1812. Various changes of tenants and ownership followed.
Hope Mill was later taken by Marriners from nearby Greengate Mill.
