Description and History of Site:-
Monumental brick building with large areas of glazing. Buildings at the back with saw outline roofs like weaving sheds. Stone dressings. 'D.L.&CO 1906' on gable. Principally known as manufacturers of wrought iron pulleys. The company was operating in Birstall by 1900, probably on the same site as the works of 1906. Known to be still advertising their products in 1968, the company had probably stopped manufacturing by 1973.
