Description and History of Site:-
Fine Georgian styled mill in brick with small-paned 'factory' windows with iron glazing bars. Steam supplemented, remains of chimney in an extension behind. Adjacent, either a ruined water powered predecessor or a separate wheel-house with foundations only and some half buried machinery. Sluice from river, huge weir and separate navigation channel. (Hatcher 1973). Estimated building date 1820. Had a turbine at some point, supplementary steam power probably later. Damaged by fire 1962. Was in the process of demolition in February 1974.
2015 Site redeveloped large weir on the River Ure still in place
