Knaresborough High Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
Two shallow pointed arches of four builds. Earliest with 4 ribs and with arches of 2 chamfered orders. Widened upstream and also with rusticated segmental arches downstream. Carries the A59 over the River Nidd. Chamfered arches may be medieval. Rebuilt 1773, with C19 and C20 widening and restoration.
